  • Habitat Hunter

    Max 60 students | 50 mins duration
    Who lives in the Gardens? Explore creatures big and small and their different habitats during a facilitated walk in the Gardens.

    • Discover what makes the habitat successful for our Aussie animals to make it a home. Get crafty and make your own Gardens creature out of natural materials to take home.

  • Budding Botanist - Growing plants: seeds and soil

    Max 50 students | 50 mins duration
    Get your hands dirty and find out what plants need to grow and live. Investigate the parts of a plant; seeds, leaves, roots and flowers and discover the life cycle of a flowering plant.

    • Pot up an Australian native seed to grow as a take home experiment.

  • Pond Dipping - Habitats and Lifecycles

    25 students, sessions able to be run 30 mins apart | 50 mins duration
    Get hands on and dip for the weird and wonderful creatures that live in our freshwater ponds. Can you figure out what plants and animals are in your bucket?

    • Explore the skimmers, slinkers and swimmers with magnifying glasses. Who feeds on who and what do they need to survive?

    Explore Australian plants and landscapes through the eyes of Indigenous Australians.

    • Experience our indigenous handling collection and discover how our plants can provide everything needed for life; food medicine and tools. Discover how native plants are used today.
