Exclusive Ranger-guided activities
It is now possible for private groups to book ranger guided activities for a more personal Kakadu experience. A minimum of two weeks notice is required. Special Interest or charter group prices start at $100 for a group up to 6 people (adults, children and/or concession) and $15.00 per person thereafter. Explore Bowali Visitor Centre
Take a guided tour through Bowali’s Interpretive Centre, learning about Kakadu’s unique landscapes, cultural understandings of country, endemic species, joint management and much more. With advance notice provided, this experience can be tailored to your interests and desired curriculum outcomes.

Various topics are available, including: Ginga (estuarine crocodiles), Kakadu’s Wildlife, Kakadu’s Six Seasons, Buffalo Days, Rangers Behind the Scenes, Rock Art.

Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) art site talks
1.5km guided loop walk, discovering three places of interest along the way
Gun-warddehwardde Lookout – Views of country and culture (different world views are explored)
Anbangbang Gallery – Learning about law, land and family (rock art and landscape features tell stories and serve as reminders about cultural obligations)
Anbangbang Shelter – Jigsaw in time (archaeological site explained)

Guided walk and Visitor Centre tour: Wonders of Kakadu’s world heritage
A guided one way walk down the Bowali walking track (from Jabiru to Bowali Visitor Centre, 2km), ending with a guided tour of the Bowali’s interpretive centre.
Time: 2 hours
Guided walk: Explore an iconic wetland
A guided short walk on the Yellow Water boardwalk, learning about this important habitat, its wildlife and traditional uses of natural resources.
Time: 1 - 2 hours
Guided walk: From billabong to stone country
A guided walk to Anbangbang Billabong, followed by a short but steep ascent to Nawurlandja Lookout, giving views over a landscape studded with stories. This walk explores two very different habitats which are closely linked.

Hunt and gather with a traditional Aboriginal guide, eat traditionally-cooked bush foods beneath the stars, listen to stories about creation ancestors or see rock art through Aboriginal eyes.
Animal Tracks safari
Award winning hands-on aboriginal and wildlife safari. Search for bush foods, learn about bush life and enjoy traditional cooking of bush meats and vegies for a sunset dinner.
Available early June to late September, departing from Cooinda.

An intimate cruise along the East Alligator River with an Aboriginal guide. Gain an insight into their rich culture, with stories about the creation time, traditional uses of many plants and animals and bush survival skills.
In the monsoon season, Guluyambi operates boat cruises along the swollen Magela Creek - floating through flooded paperbark forests, this tour is the only way to visit Ubirr once floodwaters close the road. Yellow Water Cruises
Indigenous owned Yellow Water Cruises, is eco accredited and operates exclusively on Yellow Water Billabong. Departing from Cooinda Lodge Kakadu, they operate year round and provides up to six cruises a day of 90 or 120 minute duration during the dry season. During the tropical summer, 3 yellow water cruises run daily.
